D A Z 2 # 1 2
Four renders of the same lady but with 2 different hairstyles and outfits. Again, I have been trying to get perfect pins...

You might by now have noticed that I never settle on a consistent logo / font or position for my signature. This is mainly due to an over-creative mind and a constant need for change and hopefully improvement. I am capable of settling on an idea and sticking with it, namely the design of this website, but I have still not nailed my sig logo...

Continuing my root around the virtual attic, here are some early renders as I dicked around with muscle and face morphs...
As per usual, I ended up over-egging the calf muscles, but I think it kinda suits. This kind of body is what I usually end up with after a while, relatively slender, but very athletic - an absolute bitch to pose at times because if you bend a limb too much the morphs get too unrealistic, and I start to twitch violently get cross.

These 3 renders concentrate mainly on legs, initially the extremely muscular, and then trying to get toned, athletic legs and a skirt.
The first and last images are trigts scale, and the top right is digts scale. I particularly like these proportions for leg interaction, especially with the extra height of high heels.

Here are four evolving images I made to help visualise a story I started writing a long time ago about a 7' 0" girl called Sophie. Like most of my story projects, I wasn't too happy with it and it kind-of petered out...
The basic premise was that she was a young secretary who fell in love with her boss, but he felt too awkward and guilty about his feelings for her, and her height compared to his, and grew distant and uncommunicative.
~ The statuesque redhead bent down slowly, until finally she reached his level. “Pleased to meet you, Mr Sanders”, she said politely, before straightening up to her full height. His eyes watched her face disappear above, as her chin and then hair blocked it from his view, and then they alighted on the soft contours of her blouse, slightly above his eyeline. She was the tallest person he thought he’d ever seen, well, not including relative size when he was a child anyway. He felt a large, strong hand grasp his, wrapping around it and swallowing it in her huge palm. “My name’s Sophie, and I’ve been training to be a, I mean your, uh, whadjacallit...?” she went on, shaking his hand up and down absent-mindedly. “...a secretary?” he ventured. “Yeah! That’s the one... sorry,” she said excitedly, her head momentarily tilting forward so she could look down at him, “I’ve only been doing it like for a week... and so, you’re the new director, right?” She looked down at him, smiling a little awkwardly. Clearly she had run out of things she had prepared herself to say, “You could let go of my hand, if you want?” he ventured cheekily, as the bones in his wrist threatened to snap. “Oh god sorry!” she laughed, immediately letting go of his hand, and put both hands behind her back nervously. She still stood right in front of him, dwarfing him, not really knowing what to do with herself.

Top:
My first experiment with the muscle morphs and a 'shiny' skin texture. I was really pleased with the long, amazonian legs I was able to create, and the light from the side picking out the detail, but not quite so pleased with the excessively ripped arms. Later I would learn to beef up the legs and stomach without affecting the arms so much. First use of a scowling bald guy also.
Middle:
Very similar composition, in fact; exactly the same scowling bald guy, but a taller, leaner amazon. First redheaded girl also, a favourite hair colour of mine, and first very low perspective image, emphasising leg length, and showing off a little flash of pantie.
Bottom:
This is the first example set in a scaled environment, quite clearly an overgrown blonde digts in a swimming pool. It was also one of the first renders that raised the issue of hair and shadows, as it massively increased the render time. Notice that the bald guy's toe just touches the surface of the water.

These are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th early Daz 3D compositions I made -
Top:
Whilst the majority of my images are portrait, I do render landscape compositions occasionally. This is my first use of proper shadows, and the first time I toyed with the calf muscles. I have a 'thing' for defined calves, and it is often the most important aspect of a render for me, besides nice breasts and a pretty face. The girl is approximately twice the size of the guy.
Middle:
This shows something I tend to do a lot, keeping a pose I like and changing the accessories and perhaps the scale. This is the same body pose as the previous render, but with a different facial expression, outfit, significantly smaller man, and different lighting. The guy is approximately 8 times smaller than the girl.
Bottom:
Testing out a proper t-shirt, and the first genuine size-comparison involving standing figures.

Here are two of my first three Daz 3D Studio renders. I noticed that the program was free, and decided that I would give it a try. I got V4, M3, some extras and freebies, and was immediately impressed with the step up from Poser on all levels.
Clothes that fit easily, better morphs, less posing irregularities, huge choices for almost any feature, and of course much higher quality renders, even on my relatively slow and cluttered laptop.
I began to wonder if I could realise many more of my fantasies than I'd previously thought.
The top image is a my first ever test shot using Daz, of V4 with the standard bikini top and bottom, lit by 2 lights.
The second image is my first proper composition of two scaled figures, an amazonian girl and a naked guy. It took me a little while to get male hair or clothes as, personally, I felt they were less important than female ones. The hair he has is actually a female do fitted to his head.
